Here are directions for serving your vid.ly videos from a custom domain such a mydomain.com/myvideos. Below are instructions for creating subdomains and top level domains.
How to create a sub-domain (myvideos.mywebsite.com)
1. Sign in to your account
2. Go to the vid.ly tab (Figure 1)
3. Then select ‘Custom Domains’
4. Enter your domain and click save
5. Go to the management console for your domain registrar
6. Create subdomain
7. Update DNS settings to use CNAME
8. In the CNAME settings use one of following alias:
a. vid.ly
b. vidly.com
c. v-888868157.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com
9. Save and wait while DNS updated
How to create top level domains (mywebsite.com)
***Important note: Custom top level domains are only available to customers hosting DNS with Amazon Route 53.
1. Sign in to your account
2. Go to the vid.ly tab (Figure 1)
3. Then select ‘Custom Domains’
4. Enter your domain and click save
5. Sign in to AWS console, open Route 53 Management console (Figure 2)
6. Click “Create Hosted Zone” button and fill “Domain Name” and “Comment” fields and save settings
7. Open created hosted zone and get the list of name servers from Delegation Set section
8. Click “Go to Record Sets” and then click “Create Record Set”
9. Enter following details into appeared form and click Create button:
a. Type: A – IPv4 address
b. Alias radio button: Yes
c. Alias target: v-888868157.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com
10. Go to the management console for your domain registrar
11. Update domain DNS settings to use your own name settings
12. Enter the list of name servers you got in Route53
13. Save and wait while DNS updated
