Video Encoding

(None) 12-1-2009 Views: 577
Not all video is the same.  Digital video can exist in any number of formats, codecs, or bitrates using many different settings.  When a digital video file does not meet the specifications of the video playback software or device, it must be converted to the proper format using video encoding software or hardware.  Video encoding is one of those important steps in a video that will determine whether the image output looks good or does not.  The technical term for this process is ‘encoding’ but is often referred to as ‘transcoding’ or ‘conversion’.
